Why did Postcards & Rock start? At KidsTravel2 we're all about getting out and about with the kids and having fun, be it a short day trip, family holiday, or just making the most of the day to day trekking about we all get up to with the kids.  I know many of you post about your holidays & day trips on your own blogs, but I thought it would be great to pull them all together here.  I also love a challenge and don't want to restrict Postcards and Rock to a purely holiday theme.  Curious?  Read on...

What do you have to do?
Each week I will give you a different theme eg 'Postcard sent from your weekend' or 'Postcard sent from your last shopping trip'.  All you need to do is write a short postcard on your own take of this theme starting 'Dear All...' and include as well the 3 words you would use to sum up the experience as if they were the words running through a stick of rock.

It is up to you how you interpret the theme - you could choose to write about a daytrip you enjoyed (or hated!) over the weekend.  Instead you might choose to explore how you were feeling over the weekend.  You might just include a photo, and the 3 words for your rock.  You can be as creative or literal as you like.

Why take part?
Postcards & Rock will mean different things to different people.  It might be a fun way of recording & sharing the great times you spend with friends and family.  Maybe you're looking for a new blogging challenge or inspiration each week and this could be part of it.  It will hopefully drive traffic to your blog, maybe regular readers and help you discover other blogs too.  There's no commitment, you don't have to do it every week (although it would be lovely if you did) - just think of it as another resource to help your own blog :)

I will be tweeting and facebooking about Postcards & Rock to the KidsTravel2 community and I'll also give it a mention in our email newsletters which we send out a couple of times a month to our registered users.

So, how do I link up my blog?
I will do my Postcard and Rock post on Wednesday.  This week the theme is Poscard from my sofa.  All you need to do is leave a comment on my post with a link to your post in it and I'll make sure it is listed on the site!  You can see older posts here.
